Parenting Coordination

A parenting coordinator is a neutral person with experience in child custody matters.  If the parties agree that a parenting coordinator should be appointed they can use this person to assist them in reaching agreements with regard to their minor children after divorce or following a separation of unmarried parents.

Often the parties agree at the time of their divorce judgment to utilize a parenting coordinator in future decision making.  This assists the parties in avoiding costly post-divorce litigation or time wasted in Court in order to agree upon decisions.

Attorney Shannon Murphy Barnes is a certified mediator and also acts as a parenting coordinator in high conflict cases involving minor children.    Sometimes it is necessary to have an outside, neutral person assist parents in decision making regarding major and on occasion, even minor decisions with regard to their children.  Attorney Shannon Murphy Barnes uses her experience in the Probate and Family Courts in order to assist parties with these often difficult decisions.
